Noise Control Research was the first of 3 projects whose aim it was to learn about Open Source Software and how to apply it in order to start a Publishing or Media Company. The project ended up delving into areas beyond that scope in that effort.
Our original area of research was resource development, how to use Linux servers to bring publishing tools into play. This led us into learning about Apache, MySql, and Php. The learning curve was very steep at first, from 2005, to 2007, acquiring knowledge about how these tools worked and interacted with one another was thought to be complex and requiring some sort of custom solution.
In early 2007 it was discovered that NCR could leave most of that work to a Virtual Hosting Service, and develop websites on the fly. With that in mind, and the fact that we were rapidly over the course of the year granted, much more technical capability than we required, the task became sorting out the roles of the three ideal entities we chose to create.
In August of 2006 Noise Control Publishing published American Mohawk by Chris Bradley and got the ball rolling, but the task was not complete. Just this month, Chris has completed the tast of building a proper website for American Mohawk (http://www.americanmohawk.com). And the roles of Noise Control Research, Noise Control Media, and Noise Control Publishing, have begun to take shape.
Noise Control Research has been in the past, and will remain focussed on learning about the technological features of the software. And has in the past engaged in activities related also to Artificial Intelligence research.

Noise Control Publishing will continue to publish books at the rate of 1 per year until 2010. We have published 2 as of today's date, American Mohawk, and Dancing Over The Fury, both by Chris Bradley.
